Across Europe, thousands of professionals and volunteers follow a calling to help others – whether it’s rescuing those stranded on a mountain, rushing into a burning building or speeding through city streets to give emergency medical assistance. These extraordinary individuals can face self-doubt and fear, yet they go forward regardless. It’s this incredible spirit that is the focus for a new series of films by Ford of Europe called ‘Lifesavers’. The films feature people like Sarai, a medical paramedic in Valencia, Spain who is just four months into her role, and Martin, who set up the Water Rescue Service in Nové Mlýny, Czech Republic in response to the number of accidents happening on the popular local reservoirs. Each episode in the series explores what drives these special characters to do what they do, providing insights into how they cope with the pressures and what it means to them.
